Hello! My name is Mike Carlson and we are here to serve you.
Born and raised on a farm in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, I developed an adventurous spirit early on. After serving in the National Guard, I earned a degree in Elementary Education from Southwest State University in Minnesota. While my mother still resides in South Dakota, my adventurous nature led me to Colorado 35 years ago—and I’ve called it home ever since. It was in Colorado that I met my wife, Camile, and together we have three children: Dillon, Diego, and Isa. We currently reside in Westminster, Colorado.

Upon arriving in Colorado, I began a 30-year career in education. Over the years, I served as a middle school teacher, high school assistant principal, middle school principal, online school principal, and eventually as a district-level administrator. Most of my career was dedicated to serving the students, families, and community of Westminster.

After retiring from education, I set out to pursue an “encore” career—one that would allow me to continue serving people, solving problems, and striving for continuous improvement. That journey led me to launch Painter1 of Westminster, where I can fully realize my passion for community impact and service.
